Steffanie Christi’an Carries Detroit’s House Legacy Forward With Inner City’s “Positivity”

Detroit don’t just invent sounds — we raise the voices that carry them. Steffanie Christi’an is proving that right now, stepping to the front of a new Inner City single.

“Positivity” drops October 16 through Inner City Detroit, with the Detroit vocalist on lead. The record was written and produced by Kevin Saunderson and his son Dantiez Saunderson — two generations of the Saunderson family on one track, a driving vocal house record built for the dancefloor.

This ain’t their first time locking in, either. Steffanie was the voice on “Turn Me On” this past summer, released through Defected’s Glitterbox imprint — that collaboration made her an important part of Inner City’s current sound, and “Positivity” takes the partnership even further. Remixes from Todd Terry and Chuck Daniels keep the celebration going, with a second remix package landing November 6.

From “Big Fun” and “Good Life” to six million records sold worldwide, Inner City carried Detroit house to the globe — and now a new Detroit voice is carrying it forward. That’s the city working exactly like it should.
