Detroit, stand up — one of ours just made the whole city proud. Donald Tabron II, the junior quarterback at Detroit’s Cass Technical High School, class of 2028, is headed to Texas A&M.
On Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, he verbally committed to the Aggies, choosing Texas A&M over finalists LSU and Oregon. A Detroit kid betting on himself and winning — that’s what we do.
The rankings say what we’ve been saying all along. 247Sports ranks him No. 49 overall, the No. 3 quarterback, and No. 4 in Michigan for the 2028 class. Five-star. Certified.
And the numbers back it up. As a sophomore he threw for 2,819 yards and 35 touchdowns, and his two-year totals are 4,502 yards and 52 touchdowns. He won a Division 1 state championship as a freshman in 2024 and finished runner-up in 2025. Cass Tech is 23-1 in his two years leading the offense, and the Technicians are 6-0 so far this season. No surprise he was named the Detroit Free Press Buffalo Wild Wings Preseason Athlete of the Year.
